I gave my first impressions of the Apple Watch on Friday. Three-and-a-half days in, and halfway into my one-week experiment, it’s time for an update. You may want to get a cup of your preferred hot beverage before reading this piece: it’s a long one! It appears I was entirely alone in my uncertainty over whether or not the watch would win me over. Strangers commenting here, and friends commenting on Facebook, spoke with one voice: I was, they all confidently predicted, going to keep it....

Apple earnings day is upon us, and with it we learn how the company performed during the third fiscal quarter of 2019. AAPL forecasted Q3 earnings revenue between $52.5 billion and $54.5 billion, which compares to $53.3 billion reported in the same quarter a year ago. So how much money did Apple actually make during April, May, and June of 2019? $53.8 billion revenue and $10.04 billion profit. Apple no longer reports iPhone, iPad, and Mac unit sales numbers, though it does report a revenue breakdown by product category....

A few weeks ago, Apple announced a rare revision that significantly lowered its earnings guidance for the 2018 holiday quarter. AAPL shares swiftly dropped 8% in after-hours trading on the news, and slid further the following day. However, today AAPL shares have officially bounced back to above the pre-announcement share price of $157.92, recovering over $75 billion of its market cap. Just before it shared its holiday quarterly revenue would be $5B-$9B lower than its guidance predicted, AAPL ended at $157....

“Now that [the NBN’s] built, I think it’s appropriate to treat its cost as sunk and therefore, what matters for Australia is getting the best use out of the NBN,” Sims told Senate Estimates yesterday. The ACCC chair was speaking to the NBN’s efforts to recoup costs, wherein the company responsible for running the network has previously said it needs to eventually have an average revenue per user of AU$51 to avoid a potential write-down....

In its first month, Destiny sold 6.3 million copies – an impressive feat for any game, but especially for a brand new property. Yet, some would say it was all downhill from there, as the game was plagued with a string of problems; namely, a thin story and a daft leveling system. Still, Destiny retained a base of dedicated players (reportedly 23 million strong) and with its most recent expansion, last fall’s The Taken King, developers improved on many of these issues....

Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been delayed until November from its initial September release date. Officially unveiled in April by Activision, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy includes Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon, which were all released from 1998 to 2000, and now are all remastered for the current-gen. The Spyro games are being rebuilt from the ground up with the Unreal Engine 4 by developer Toys for Bob....

This morning Apple opened at 365 and at the time of this writing, Apple is heading towards yesterday’s close, at 370....

Apple stock has been trading with record highs over the past few weeks, and today the company has reached a new milestone in valuation. The value of a single AAPL share hit around $182.90 during intraday trading, making Apple the first company in the world to be worth $3 trillion.
