AAPL stock climbed more than 5% in just five minutes after the US government announced a delay to the latest range of tariffs on Chinese imports. It reverses the 5% drop seen a week ago when China devalued its currency in response to Trump’s announcement that a 10% tariff would be applied to a further $300B of US imports… The 10% tariff was expected to hit all Apple products and was due to take effect on September 1 — meaning that this year’s iPhones would have been affected....

After almost a year since Apple introduced the first M1 Macs, the list of software that supports the company’s silicon chip is only growing. Now, Ableton Live, an app for electronic music production, is bringing support for the M1 Macs with the latest beta. According to a blog post, Live 11.1 adds native support for Apple computers running on the M1 silicon chip. Not only that, but this release will also come with a number of small improvements, including an updated Shifter device, which adds a new model for real-time monophonic pitch shifting, as well as delay, an envelope section, and LFO and glide functionality, too....

AAPL’s Q4 2019 earnings day has arrived. For the fourth fiscal quarter of 2019, Apple had forecasted revenue between $61 billion and $64 billion. That compares to the $62.9 billion it reported in the same quarter last year. How did Apple perform during Q4 2019? In its earnings release, AAPL has announced revenue of $64 billion and profit of $13.69 billion. Apple no longer reports iPhone, iPad, and Mac unit sales numbers, though it does report a revenue breakdown by product category....

AAPL was the top pick for investors in Samsung’s home market of South Korea during the final quarter of 2019, according to the Korea Securities Depository (KSD)… The Korea Herald reports that local investors bought almost $60M worth of the stock, even after deducting the amount of the stock sold locally in the same period. They picked well, as AAPL broke $300 as the year opened, before pulling back a little....

Record shipments of Apple’s new iPhone 6 models unveiled this week might mean more headaches for companies building accessories with Apple’s Lightning connectors. Several sources tell us in the lead up to the launch of the new iPhones this week, Apple has purchased all of the available bulk inventory of Lightning connectors and authentication chips leaving smaller accessory makers in its Made-for-iPhone licensing program stranded. One manufacturer we spoke with told us that bulk orders of Lightning supplies from Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn are being reserved for Apple and its preferred partners, which include some of the larger iPhone accessory makers....
