The system updates are always late to the party when it comes to US tele-carrier rolling out any update for smartphones. We are speaking about the Samsung Galaxy A6 which is now receiving the Android 9.0 Pie update. It is available with new build number A600AUCU3BSD3. Along with the new system step up to Pie, Galaxy A6 is also receiving the March 2019 security patch. Now we are in the mid of June, so at least a security patch of may should have been included....

Apple’s earnings have just dropped and the investor call is ongoing. Whilst Apple hit the top end of expectations for the current quarter, guidance for the holiday quarter was lower than most investors expected. In an interview with Reuters, Cook blamed three factors for the cautious outlook: differences in iPhone schedule compared to last year, negative impacts from foreign exchange rates, and macroeconomic weakness in ‘select emerging markets’. With Apple set to reveal its fiscal Q3 (calendar Q2) earnings later today, analysts estimate that the iPhone X accounted for around one quarter of total iPhone sales. If accurate, this would significantly boost Apple’s average selling price (ASP) for iPhones … The WSJ reports that analysts expect a 14.5% increase in ASP, to $694. Apple doesn’t break down sales by model, but the ASP, revenue and total iPhone sales will tell the story....

Apple stock jumped 4.5% at market open today, following better-than-expected earnings and guidance for the forthcoming quarter. The stock broached $199 and has settled at $198 at time of publishing. Apple’s market cap is now above $970 billion dollars. The company announced a record June quarter, with $53 billion revenue from 41.3 million iPhones, 11.6 million iPads and 3.7 million Macs. As Apple continues to aggressively buy back its own stock, the jump in market cap was disproportionately smaller than the rise in share price....

Momentum pictures releases the A Million Little Pieces movie trailer. Directed by English filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson, the drama is a big screen adaptation of James Frey’s 2003 memoir of the same name. In 2006, Frey admitted to fabricating details in his New York Times Best Seller. A Million Little Pieces details Frey’s experience as a 23-year-old recovering alcohol and drug addict.
